terminus of SR 173
is at SR 220
in Liberty.

(Dan Bryant, 3/23/07)  Northbound 220: Pinnacle Road comes to a T intersection at Main Street. (Dan Bryant, 3/23/07) Historic western terminus: Stevens Pond Road, Main Street and Trues Pond Road, Liberty. SR once 173 ended at SR 3, which passed through Liberty village on Main Street and Trues Pond Road until at least 1942.  The former end. When SR 3 was relocated to the north, 173 was extended to the left along old SR 3 to the former 3/220 duplex. Trues Pond Road, to the right, was orphaned. (Dan Bryant, 3/23/07) The eastern terminus of SR 173 is in Lincolnville, at the Islesboro ferry landing east of US 1. 
The US 1 intersection as viewed from northbound US 1. The ferry landing is less than half a mile to the east, and most maps (including the DeLorme) erroneously show 173 as ending at US 1. (Douglas Kerr, 7/1/06)
